Maida Vale is the home of crime?!  

Our headquarters in North London are the setting for many all-time old Hollywood classics detective films like Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder (M stands for Maida Vale?!) and Preminger's Bunny Lake is Missing, as was the popular 1970s British crime television series, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). 

Some prominent crime fiction writers, Ruth Rendell, Nina Bawden, EC Bentley, Christianna Brand, and PD James have all lived in and/or written books set in Maida Vale too and an early ingénue of the police procedural of the police procedural and detective genre Wilkie Collins, was educated here.
