Alexandra Strnad read English at the University of Cambridge, and completed her postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford, as well as studying at Charles University. A Czech-British-Australian National, she lived in Prague for several years, and now spends her time between Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Czech Republic. Widely published as a poet, she was a Winner of the Jane Martin Prize. This is her debut novel.
