By Li Xiaowei

Memoir I Hardback

From a small, remote mountain village in northern China to London, England, Xiaowei's Journey tells the remarkable true story of a young woman restless for adventure and prepared to risk everything in search of a bigger world.

One of six children, Xiaowei grew up surviving harsh winters, hard labour in the mountains, and the financial challenges of surviving alone in Beijing during the 1990s, until a chance meeting with an English businessman radically changed the course of her life and brought her to England. There she began a new journey, navigating the language, customs and culture while plunging into the joys and fears of motherhood. This memoir is testimony to one woman's resilience and fight for survival as she discovers that home resides with those you love, and some bonds are unbreakable, no matter how far you roam.

Li Xiaowei was born in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China and came to England in 2000. She lives in London and is a British citizen.
