We Went to Parliament This Week

To quote the Publisher's Association bulletin, which says it best:
Publishers Association Winter Reception

'On Tuesday, the Publishers Association was delighted to bring parliamentarians, publishers, and leading figures from the UK books industry together for a reception in Parliament. Attendees heard from Co-Chair of the APPG on Publishing and sponsor of the event Baroness Rebuck (Lab), PA President and CEO of Bonnier Books UK Perminder Mann, PA CEO Dan Conway, and the keynote speaker best-selling author Richard Osman. Speeches highlighted the integral role of publishing in fueling the wider creative industries, and the need to address the crisis in children’s reading by investing in libraries in schools and in communities. Guests in attendance included former Prime Minister Baroness (Theresa) May (Con), Chair of the APPG on Publishing Valerie Vaz (Lab), Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Stuart Andrew (Con), and Government Whip Lord Leong (Lab).'

We at BSPG were very happy to attend, and meet the leading figures concerned with Publishing in the UK - we're part of the conversation, and as usual, punching above our weight.
