Pound slips, retail falters, in a mourning UK

According to the latest news from the BBC today (see here) the pound has slipped to its lowest level in nearly 40 years, and retail is woeful. Hard times indeed. In other news, two policeman have today been stabbed in London, while the nation remains in national mourning for the death of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Though the sun is shining, the land is solemn.
