Eyewear's Book on Theresa May a New Statesman Book of the Year
Only three books were selected by the New Statesman's own editors for this year's New Statesman Books of the Year feature - and one of them was Christopher Jackson's magisterial 500-page study of the embattled (and, tonight, surviving) British PM, only the second woman in British history to hold such high office. Theresa May is selling well at Amazon, and deserves the wider audience it is gaining. Completed in the autumn, it presents the compelling personal backstory, and rise to power narrative, of a fascinating, often-infuriating, but never-not-proceeding, figure - one of the key politicians in the West today.
