Eyewear Publishing is delighted to announce that one of its recent titles, Juggling With Turnips, a book of short comic fiction by Karl MacDermott, has become a critical success in Ireland.
The Sunday Independent finds it "a very funny book - the writing is clever, self-deprecating in a kind of Irish Catholic Woody Allen manner and at times it's as tender as it is riotous."
Meanwhile, The Irish Times states it is "funny and perfectly constructed... a wild imagination with wit and wisdom on the human condition... if laughs are hard currency the book has more than enough to buy plenty of readers."
The Irish Examiner concludes the book has "hilarious quirky vignettes, with some gloriously comic moments".
The RTE Guide likens some of the pieces to "comic cuttings from a Myles na gCopaleen - like imagination." - while The Tuam Herald judges the book to be, "slightly daft, occasionally touching and often very funny."
It's an Irish book of the year, and one that would make an ideal gift any time.
