With the panic, a burst of speed. The first explosion nearly knocked him to the rapidly pooling asphalt. His shoes now hammered it, lungs straining against his ribs as he left it all behind. Well, what was left of it. He had gotten cocky, stopping to enjoy the rain. He could’ve been blown away in that first one. Fortunately he was far enough down the street from this next explosion. The soaked streets flashed orange as his second bomb detonated. A single laugh spurt as a hoarse cough, rain and spittle whipping back on him. One explosion covered his tracks. Sent all evidence skyward. But nothing really happens until it happens twice. A second one meant not only were his tracks covered, but the ground they imprinted was wiped from time. Now he had nothing left, which made him truly free. Unless this rain put out the fire of the explosions.
